STICKLEY BROTHERS & LIMBERT

The Stickley Brothers were based in Grand Rapids Michigan and were one of the largest production houses of Arts & Crafts furniture as early as 1901. The firm added a significant metal & lighting line to their catalog soon after, designs were based on English Arts & Crafts forms and other traditional European designs brought to America by the Russian & European metal smiths. The metal shops were in fact outside manufacturers supplying objects & lamps to both Stickley Brothers and the Limbert firm. Forest Craft Guild is credited with the design and manufacture of the detailed copper cut-out shades on most of the lamps. The vast majority of the hammered copper production was marked with a stylized impressed 2 to 3 digit numbers on the bottom.
