BOSTON SOCIETY OF ARTS & CRAFTS

The Boston Society of Arts & Crafts celebrated the artists of the Arts & Crafts Movement and awarded membership to the best workers in every medium. In metals, the work most associated with the membership was copper workers in rich enamels featuring peacocks, galleon ships, landscapes & sunsets. Many of these pieces are unsigned, yet the work is easily identified based on the forms and quality of enameling. The most well known makers include Frank Marshall, Gertrude Twitchell & Rebecca Cauman.
