CRAFTWOOD SHOPS

The Craftwood Shops were located in Manitou Springs Colorado, a small mountain town just above Colorado Springs. The guild was founded by R.L. Boutwell around 1913 with the goal to “find some place of great natural beauty where he could gather around him a group of craftsman of common ideals, and there build a community whose purpose should be the making of art objects under healthful and happy conditions of labor.” The shop worked in copper, brass and pewter and focused on lighting, jewelry, household objects and also produced leatherwork, pottery & weavings.
