CHARLES FREDERICK EATON

Charles Frederick Eaton lived & worked in Santa Barbara, an idyllic town situated on the Southern California coast. He began creating decorative objects & lighting around 1900 from copper & brass that were typically adorned with leather, shells and even pinecones. The majority of his work is unsigned yet can be identified through the high quality of work & the design aesthetics. Much of the material was bought by wealthy tourists, so pieces turn up throughout the States. His influence can be seen in the work of his daughter, Elizabeth Eaton Burton.
