Hans Eduard von Berlepsch-Valendas is a key figure from the Munich Secession making significant contributions to architecture, art & design. He was inspired by Morris and the British social art movement and became one of the earliest German proponents of art reform. His metalwork dates from 1897 with very fluid Jugendstil designs up to 1908 with more structured Secessionist forms. Like Vierthaler, he did a great deal of design work with Winhart & Co. much of which can be seen in period art journals.
