Potter Studios copper & enamel box, Cleveland circa 1918. Exceedingly rare hammered copper cigarette box with an applied enamel plaque featuring an impressionistic flock of white birds in front of green trees. The workmanship & “line” detail indicates the master craftsmanship of John Sidney Burton who worked at Potter for a small period in the late teens. Overall excellent condition to the enamel & copper, original patina. Lined in cedar and signed on interior, unique box opens from short side to offer cigarettes.
