Onondaga Metal Shop desk tray, Syracuse NY circa 1905. Although unsigned, this tray is a smaller version of the large serving tray made by OMS and Benedict. We believe after finding a handful of signed OMS pieces, they made a small line of metalwork featuring radial hammering (see signed Humidor below) - we have attached examples of what we believe are OMS articles, a line abandoned by Benedict, perhaps the work of a single individual at the shop. This hammered copper tray has an impressive scale given its size, helped by the large raised inner band. Original dark patina with a few verdigris spots. Measures 10.5” long and 4.25” wide. $400
