Gibbons of Wolverhampton frog paperweight, England circa 1902. With the assistance of our friends at Hammer & Hand Antiques, we were able to attribute this fabulous piece to Gibbons, primarily a lock maker who also made a small line of objects for the home. This hand paperweight features a completely hand made frog sitting atop a lily pad. The detail in the creature is so fine as to have been completed with jewelers tools. Resting on three ball fit, the design allows for easy capture between the finger and thumb. A rare piece of English Arts & Crafts metalwork. Unsigned, view signed inkwell. Measures 3.25” wide and 1.5” tall. SOLD
