Dirk Van Erp sconces, San Francisco circa 1912. A very rare pair of hammered copper sconces, flaring and domed back plates with a candle holder platform supported by a riveted arm. These are unsigned possibly as there is no flat surface on the plate, but they have classic Van Erp attributes such as the shape and design of the holder, the curved edges to the back plate, the raised edges to the platform, the copper arm and hammering quality. A similar sconce can be seen in the shop image from 1912. Very few sconces have surfaced from the Van Erp shop. Enhanced original patina. Measure 10” tall, 5” wide and outstretch 4.25”. SOLD
