Onondaga Metal Shops / Benedict Art Studio table lamp, East Syracuse NY circa 1907. A rare and large table lamp, the body and shaft are crafted from hammered copper with brass fittings surrounding the body including four scrolling iron legs. Base with flower petals folded up around the body, two large ring pulls, two shield decorations with a copper arm & center structure supporting the shade. This form was featured in the Benedict catalog priced at $64.00 and could be ordered as a gas, electric or oil lamp. The shade is not original but would have been appropriate as a period oil lamp with top opening to accommodate the glass flute. The eight sided brass shade fits perfectly within the four arms. Each glass panel is set in with brass clips, all glass original and intact. This is only the second time we have seen this exceedingly rare lamp base. Measure 26” tall and shade is 14” square. $2,500
