Art Crafts Shop box, Buffalo NY circa 1902. A very rare and early box from the short lived Art Crafts Shop. We have seen this design once prior, as part of a desk set with a larger piece signed with the patent mark of “July 21, 1902.” This would be the earliest of pieces using both silver and enamel on copper, not bronze, in their experimental days before transitioning to the Heintz Art Metal Shop. The silver is signed STERLING on both the top and front. Enamel in excellent condition on top, front and back, silver with early hand etched decorations in the leaf work. Copper with original dark patina, silver has some oxidation, especially on sides. Measures 3.75” wide, 2.25” deep and 1.75” tall. SOLD
