Philip-Semmer lamp, Pittsburgh PA circa 1912. The hammered brass body was mentioned in an article, “the Philip-Semmer glass company are showing a number of new effects in gas and electric portables. These are hand hammered brass and in a variety of sizes. Their new piano lamp in this design is a distinct novelty.” Here is another example with their leaded glass shade. The weighted base with the large dome holds the lamp perfectly in place, the ruffled edges lead to the shaft which supports the Quezal shade. The shape is reminiscent of a lily pad with a blooming flower. The base with an original patina, shade unsigned and in excellent condition. We have only seen a couple of these lamps over the past 30 years. Measures 18.5” tall, base is 10.5” deep and 6.75” wide. Shade is 8” wide and 4.5” tall. $1,250
