The Jarvie Shop “Kappa” vase, Chicago circa 1908. This very uniquely shaped hammered copper vase was purchased in Chicago from dealer James Mall about 30 years ago. Although unsigned, we are confident this is a Jarvie Shop creation based on several factors. The shape is nearly identical to the base of the Kappa candlestick, a favorite form of Jarvie. Another very similar example was crafted as a Trophy, see image below. Lastly, Jarvie is the only shop we see with fully hammered copper bases, as seen below on two tea kettle bases. This “Prairie School” vase would look incredible amidst his candlesticks. Measures 10” wide and 6.5” tall. SOLD
