Jane Carson & Frances Barnum silver & enamel pepper pot, Cleveland circa 1904. Carson & Barnum are among the earliest metalworkers in the US and within the vibrant Cleveland scene around the turn of the century. The pair (under the CB monogram) worked together from 1902 to 1905, both achieved status in the Society of Arts & Crafts and exhibited at the St. Louis Worlds Fair where they won a silver medal for their work. This exquisite hammered silver pepper pot features an abstract chased design outlining triangulated panels in green & purple enamel. There is one small ding to the silver and a small section of one enamel panel that is missing. This form is pictured in The Keystone magazine, an article by Irene Sargent from August of 1905. Measures 2.75” tall by 2” wide. SOLD
